Veneers are a cosmetic dental procedure in which a thin layer of porcelain or composite material is placed over the outside of the tooth. They are used to improve esthetics or help with tooth damage. Veneers are usually only performed on the front part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. Because of that, the direct technique is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique usually involves two appointments because the veneers are fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment, the teeth are prepared, impressions are taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. The veneers come back from the laboratory after two or three weeks. The temporaries are then removed, and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory-fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic and are esthetically pleasing.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less of the tooth material has to be removed, and the procedure is generally more comfortable. Veneers are not recommended for patients who have large fillings or little tooth structure. They are also typically recommended for the restoration of front teeth.

Esthetic Improvements with Crowns & Veneers
Crowns and veneers are used to achieve optimal esthetic outcomes. They can be effectively used to correct teeth that are discolored, misshapen, worn, or even misaligned.
Veneers require less tooth reduction than crowns, but each can provide the same level of esthetics. The deciding factor on which option is best to achieve your smile makeover is determined by the overall health of the teeth to be addressed.

How It's Done
Achieving a successful smile makeover begins with careful planning. Impressions are made from the teeth to be treated and models are then built with idealized shapes and positions for teeth.
The actual teeth are then shaped to allow for crown or veneer placement, and temporary crowns/veneers are cemented into place according to he pre-planned models.
Finally, permanent crowns/veneers are fabricated and cemented into place resulting in your beautiful new smile!

Crowns & Veneers Offer Functional Improvement
Crowns are often used to correct functional issues as well. When teeth fracture, crack, or have large failing fillings, or extreme tooth wear, crowns are the option of choice for restoring the tooth back to like-natural function.
While they also provide beautiful esthetics, crowns are used frequently to save severely damaged teeth.

5-Star Google Review
Posted on Google Deborah OverlandJuly 14, 2026 Dr. Pan and her staff provide excellent care and respect indvidual concerns and preferences. Everyone at the office is very friendly and easy to work with. Hygienists all do a great job. Highly recommend.Posted on Google Joan HaleyJuly 13, 2026 I am very pleased with what aligners are accomplishing with my teeth. I had crowding which caused chipped teeth and more. I was dubious at first but am so glad I chose to do it. It’s worth every penny. Fixing teeth would have cost so much more.Posted on Google Jingqi JiaJuly 6, 2026 I had such a great experience at Pan dentistry. I appreciate Dr pan explaining to me about all the options I have for my front teeth, including the upcoming expectations in the next 5-10 years. It does change my mind about the some fast makeover service I saw on the social media. The staff are very friendly. I feel like everyone here is very genuine and honest. I trust my dental care herePosted on Google Dennis AndersenJuly 3, 2026 Dr Pan is knowledgable, pleasant, gentle, and thorough. I feel my dental health is in good hands. After skin cancer surgery on my left cheek, I had continuing pain in my upper rear teeth. Dr. Pan did a thorough exam & x-ray. She correctly diagnosed that that the surgeon had most likely hit a facial nerve when injecting anesthetic in my cheek. She explained how the nerves converge in that area. She also assured me that my pain would probably disappear in a few weeks, which it did. I appreciate that careful diagnosis and assurance. I continue to be impressed with her care, skill, and emphasis on preventive dental care My friends and I also appreciate the skill of Jackson, the dental hygienist. He also is skilled and takes the time to explain and demonstrate, when needed, how to best care for our teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Pan and her staff.Posted on Google Art JonsonJune 18, 2026 Dr Pan is great. Very clean, professional office and staff.
